Queensborough National Bank & Trust Company offers the highest level of extended validation certificates for online banking customers, featuring "Extended Validation" SSL (secure socket layer - https) technology to protect your browsing activity. This certificate provides a 256-bit encrypted connection between the user’s browser and the Web services. All information in transit between site visitors and the server, including any cookies, is encrypted during transit. Extended Validation (EV) Certificates provide visual indicators including a green address bar and padlock at the header of the browser, to provide assurance to users that they are at the correct website.

How is customer data protected on mobile applications?

All data exchanged between Mobile Web Banking and Mobile Banking Apps with Queensborough is protected in transit using SSL. In Mobile Web Banking, no customer information is stored or cached on the device. Mobile Banking Apps use the device’s secure storage to host sensitive data.

What controls are used to prevent unauthorized access to our customers’ accounts in Mobile Web Banking and Mobile Banking Apps?

Mobile Web Banking and QNBT Mobile Banking use out-of-band multifactor authentication to authenticate users at login. QNBT also employs biometric authentication to mobile devices through Touch ID.

How is Online Banking information (including login credentials) kept secure?

Mobile Web Banking does not store any information in the user’s device or the Web browser cache. Mobile Banking Apps use the device’s secure storage to host sensitive data. All data is securely transmitted to Digital Insight servers using SSL.

Does the Bank use browser cookies and device identification on the mobile channel?

Yes. Mobile Web Banking uses cookies to fingerprint mobile devices. This feature reduces the threat of having a banking session hijacked and manipulated by attackers.

Does QNBT use challenge questions on the mobile channel?

No. Answers to challenge questions can be discovered or guessed easily. Instead, one-time passcodes (OTPs) are sent out of band using SMS or phone calls.

If a customer’s mobile device is lost or stolen, can anyone access his or her banking information or take over the account and identity?

No. If a customer’s mobile device is lost or stolen after authentication, the account cannot be accessed without the username and password. Customers should follow device hardware guidelines to wipe devices remotely. Financial Institutions have the ability to remove the multi-factor authentication token from devices.

How does the Bank secure Mobile Remote Deposit Capture?

Mobile Remote Deposit Capture is secured by the same means as the rest of the mobile application.

Does QNBT allow check and statement views on the mobile channel?

Yes. The Bank allows check and statement views. They are sent over HTTPS and use the same security as the other mobile features.

Does the bank ever ask for my online banking username and password?

No. Bank employees will never ask for your username and password. Please do not share your online banking credentials.
