Mike English Promoted to Coastal Region President, Senior Lending Officer

Queensborough is pleased to announce the promotion of Mike English to the position of Coastal Region President and Senior Lending Officer. With 28 years of extensive experience in banking, including 17 years of dedicated service with Queensborough in Savannah, English brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to his new role.

Prior to his promotion, English has served in various capacities within the banking sector across Georgia. Additionally, his tenure of 8 years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve reflects his dedication to service both in and out of the financial industry.

As a true community banker, English is an active member of his community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Senior Citizens Inc. and as a volunteer advocate with Chatham Savannah Citizens Advocacy. His involvement extends to organizations such as the American Legion Post 135, where he is a proud member. Past roles include Board Member of the Savannah Small Business Assistance Center, Trustee of the Ossabaw Island Foundation and Historic Savannah Foundation, and Chairman of Ogeechee Riverkeeper.

Over the past 10 years, English has overseen the remarkable growth of Queensborough’s presence in the coastal market, expanding from one small loan office to 10 branches and a commercial lending group.

In his new role, English will oversee a team of Regional Managers who will be responsible for leading the bank in the following markets: Savannah, Pooler, Rincon, Garden City, Hinesville, Statesboro, Sylvania, Metter, Midville and Swainsboro.

Of his promotion, English says "While our region faces unprecedented growth over the next few years, there has never been a stronger need for a true community bank like Queensborough. Our locations and experienced team of bankers is perfectly suited to help area businesses and individuals prosper, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead this group.”

English and his wife Ashley have two college-aged daughters. His roots run deep in Jefferson County, where his family maintains a farm near Grange. He is a graduate of Swainsboro High School and Georgia Southern University and is the son of the late Lynn and Senator Bill English of Swainsboro.

Queensborough congratulates Mike English on his well-deserved promotion and looks forward to his continued leadership in the Coastal Region.
