Giving Back with Golden Harvest

For over 10 years, Queensborough has partnered with Golden Harvest Food Bank to feed families in need. Through the years, bank employees have distributed over one hundred thousand pounds of food, served thousands of families and have experienced an overwhelming sense of gratitude in giving back to their local communities.

Golden Harvest Mobile Markets provide food like fresh produce and meat as well as critical grocery products like diapers and toilet paper. Through Queensborough-sponsored Mobile Markets, counties served include McDuffie, Jefferson, Emanuel, Washington, Richmond, Columbia and Burke.

“Queensborough employees and their families are supporters and volunteers for Golden Harvest, so we’re proud to partner with such a great organization that is dedicated to fighting hunger and improving lives in our communities.” said Amy Breitmann, President and CEO of Golden Harvest Food Bank.

This year, Queensborough employees continued to make a big impact in their local communities, by:

  • Hosting 9 Mobile Markets
  • Distributing 103,404 pounds of food
  • Serving 1,944 families

“As a community bank, one of our primary passions is serving, uplifting, investing in, and empowering the people and businesses within our communities.  As such, we are blessed to partner with Golden Harvest and to support all the ways they bring honor to others through their resolute commitment to compassion and care” said Dagan Sharpe, Queensborough Senior Vice President, Regional Banking Manager.

In addition to volunteer opportunities, Queensborough presented a $10,000 check to the organization at the Mobile Market on October 23rd hosted at the bank’s Wrens location.
